Climate Change in the UK - check out what it means where you are...

Defra have some very cool info' on climate change in the UK if you're interested.

If you want to know what the average wind speed is where you live then check out their baseline maps - these are average wind speed by season across the UK for the period 1971 - 2000:

Maybe I'm just an optimist but that average wind speed chart looks a little on the low side for the south coast.
