It's probably not a bad idea to post this here in the hopes that it will be useful to someone... especially seeing as this is virgin turf.
if you are learning to kitesurf apart from learning with a qualified instructor (might be worth checking the BKSA ) - remember always to choose locations with plenty of beach space and as few obstacles as possible. Last thing you want to be putting you off is the dual carriageway downwind.
When choosing your forecast (and I guess this is where Big Salty comes in
choose a wind and location that isn't gusty. Gusts can be very dangerous for obvious reasons.
Something I'd personally like to see is a rating system that encompasses kitesurfing wind strengths. You guys do pretty much everything else right but this would be really useful.
E.g. for learning 10-20kts,
intermediates 8-20kts
advanced 8-30kts
experts only 30kts+
If anyone has any thoughts on that 0 I'd be interested to know. Yes it is a friday night, it's windy tomorrow and I figured I'd save some money....

That's not a bad call spacer - we are looking at adding an alternate kitesurfing set of ratings soon. If anyone else would like to suggest any considerations for these then let us know as ever....
